SeenScan vs Profound: which fits a small brand?

Last updated:

Profound is the more capable platform: its Enterprise plan covers up to nine AI engines, adds SSO and SOC 2, and is sold to marketing teams through a demo. SeenScan is $19 a month, checks ChatGPT and Gemini, and is built for one founder who wants to know whether AI names their store. They are not really competing for the same buyer.

We make SeenScan, so weigh this accordingly. Every price and limit for another product on this page was read from that company’s own pricing page on and links to it. This category re-prices constantly — check the source before you buy.

Who each one is built for

Profound sells to brands and agencies with a marketing team, several markets and a budget line for tooling. Its pricing page offers a free trial, then a custom Enterprise plan with dedicated support.

SeenScan sells to one person with one store. You add your brand, up to five competitors and the questions your customers ask; every day it puts those questions to ChatGPT and Gemini and records which brands each answer names and which pages it cites. Nothing is installed on your store and nobody needs to join a call.

What Profound shows publicly on price

On Profound’s pricing page there are two plans. A free trial: seven days, 50 unique prompts a day, ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, limited to one language and one region. And Enterprise: custom pricing, booked through a demo, with up to nine engines, SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance.

You may have seen self-serve tiers quoted at about $99 and $399 a month, billed yearly. Review sites such as this one report those figures, but they were not on Profound’s own page when we checked, so we do not treat them as current. If you are budgeting, ask Profound for a quote.

SeenScan’s prices are on one page and do not change by who you are: $19 a month (1 brand, 10 questions) or $79 a month (3 brands, 50 questions shared between them). Both are month-to-month and both include the full citation-gap report. Your first result is free and needs no card; daily tracking runs on a 7-day trial that does require one. Which to buy, and when neither

Buy Profound if you have a marketing team rather than a marketing person, you need engines beyond ChatGPT and Gemini, or procurement needs SOC 2 and SSO.

Buy SeenScan if you are one founder or a small team, ChatGPT and Gemini cover where your customers ask, and you want to learn whether this is a problem for your brand before it becomes a line in a budget.

Buy neither yet if you have not checked by hand. Ask ChatGPT, with search on, the question your customer would ask.

If you are named and your competitors are not, you have time. If you are not named at all, you have your answer, and the only open question is which tool you can afford to point at it. The ten-minute method is in how to check if ChatGPT mentions your brand. Profound’s free trial and our free first result are both honest ways to compare the two on your own brand before paying either.

Questions people ask

How much does Profound cost?

Profound’s public pricing page lists a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise plan sold through a demo; it shows no fixed monthly price. Review sites have reported self-serve plans from about $99 a month billed yearly, but those were not on Profound’s own page when we checked on October 1, 2026, so confirm with Profound before budgeting.

Is Profound worth it for a small store?

It depends on what you need. Profound covers far more AI engines and adds enterprise controls, which matter to a marketing team and are mostly unused by one founder tracking one store. If the question is only whether ChatGPT and Gemini name your brand, a $19 plan answers it.

Does SeenScan track as many AI engines as Profound?

No. SeenScan checks ChatGPT and Gemini, every day, with live web search on. Profound’s Enterprise plan lists up to nine engines, including Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Copilot and Claude.

Can I switch between them later?

Yes. SeenScan installs nothing on your store, so there is nothing to remove if you leave. It has no data export today, so your tracking history stays in SeenScan.
